Our Story
Tradition served crispy & fresh
Dosamma began with one stubborn idea: that Salford deserved the real thing. Not a watered-down version, not a compromise — a proper, sizzling South Indian dosa, the kind eaten standing at a street counter in Chennai or a family kitchen in Tamil Nadu. Vegetarian comfort food with a crisp golden shell and a soft, steaming heart, made for the neighbourhoods we live in.
The craft comes first. Our batter is a simple blend of rice and lentils, left to ferment slowly for a full 24 hours until it builds the tang and lift you cannot rush. Spices are ground by hand in small batches, coconut is grated fresh, and every recipe follows the traditional method — no shortcuts, no powders pretending to be something they are not.
We are a 100% pure vegetarian kitchen built for Salford and the wider Greater Manchester community: a place for a Tuesday lunch, a Friday night feed, or a Sunday plate shared with whoever turns up. Come as you are, leave with a full belly.
